Beverley Beckley
Acrylic Artist

Much like my writing, my art is about life experience. I write about what I become involved with and my painting reflects what I am interested in at the moment. I also experiment; I like to try painting different things, unique and challenging subjects. For 2006 I worked on the familiar and the unfamiliar. I created a painting of the Flat Iron Building and a series in "The Art of Zen" creating paintings in acrylic that are influenced strongly by the Japanese and Chinese style of painting with a heavy dose of Zen representation and philosophy.
The Zen circle is a prominent theme and the horses, fish and cats reflect that as well as the simple idea of the line. My Chowa Koi was sold in the 2006 Arts Gala Fundraiser Silent Auction and some of my other pieces are currently showing at the Gallery on Main in Lacombe.
