THE ADVENTURES OF DIAMOND GUY Griffin Ali looked at a soft plush toy magazine and saw a number of toys which looked so cute. He asked his Grandmother to order something from the, you make it yourself plush toys magazine. They looked at the magazine together and decided on a soft toy. Soon the order came by mail. The mailman handed Grandma a big box that contained me and some other friends. Grandma waited until Griffin and Raydin had come home from school. When they came home she opened the box and the boys looked through it and found me.
Griffin who would be my owner was very happy to know that I had come at last.
He wanted me made right away, so he asked in the house that someone make me when they had time. Grandma said that she would sew up all of the stuff toys that came in the mail as soon as she could.
Early the next morning when Griffin awoke, he was looking forward to meeting his new friend so reminded Grandma to make Diamond Guy for him as soon as she could. Grandma said she would work on it and Griffin went off to school.
While he was at school, Eonna a friend of Grandmas’ worked on finishing me. Eonna filled me up with soft material and saw that I was really very pretty when she was done. Wow! Eonna really liked me so she put me on the big couch to wait for my owner, Griffin.
As soon as my owner, Griffin came home from school, he saw me sitting on the couch. He dropped his school pack on the floor and ran over to me. Then he picked me up and had a big smile on his face, so I knew that he liked me right away. He then said, "This is Diamond Guy. He is really nice. I love him, Grandma."
I was quite happy to hear Griffin say that I was real nice and that he loved me. I knew that I felt soft and cuddly because Griffin kept cuddling me. He said that I was made from red and white fluffy soft material. So I was happy to know that my owner, Griffin loved me and was cuddling me. Then Griffin said in a real loud voice, "Oh! I really like Diamond Guy. He is so pretty and cuddly and he is my very own toy."
Griffin looked at my body which was shaped like a white diamond. Then he saw my red feet and my large eyes. He was thrilled to see my long red tail that ended in a large fluffy puff. Then he checked out my two horns and little wee hat on top of my head. Everyone thought that I looked so much like a very beautiful Christmas diamond. They liked me anyway.
Then my owner, Griffin, said, "Grandma, Diamond Guy is to guard the "Ace Of Diamonds," which is a book that his Grandma wrote about gangs. So he took a new copy of the book, because it is dedicated to him, his brother and cousins, and put us both in a drawer in his dresser for safe keeping.
So I talked to the book and he told me that he was written about gangs. His job was to warn young people never to get into gangs. He also pointed out some of the reasons why people got into gangs. Also, he showed them all the dangers of getting into a gang. Then he told about how awful the life of a gangster could be, even though these gangs looked good from the outside. He then showed them how to get away from a gang if they ever got caught up in one. I was really impressed to have to guard such a smart book, and I wished that all young people would read it.
I liked his cover. There was a big red diamond on it. It made him look very pretty. We both had red on us. I guess that made us fit to be with each other. So we were both happy to have something in common with each other. We became good friends right away.
The "Ace Of Diamonds" really liked me and we quickly became very good friends. Now I had a good friend and would never ever be lonely. Every day he would talk to me and I would talk to him, and play with him. We played lots of games, and I will tell you about them later on. At nights we would snuggle up to each other and sleep. He kept me warm and I kept him warm. He made me so happy and became my best friend.
I was glad my owner Griffin, gave me such a nice book to guard. If anyone ever tried to take the Ace of Diamonds, I would protect us with a flick of my tail. Then I would butt them with my head and send them flying away. Yes, I would really fight hard to save my special friend.
Since we were living in a drawer, I did not think that anyone would ever try to harm us. Griffin was smart to keep us in this drawer. No one could see us unless they came to look in the drawer. He even covered us up with his soft winter sweater, which kept us very warm. I liked it in that drawer.
Living in this drawer was nice and cozy. We did not have any cold wind to bother us, so we were never get cold. We felt nice and warm with Griffin's sweater over us. We are a lucky pair, don't you think so?
Since we did not need food, nor to go to the bathroom, we just played games all day. We really loved to play opposites. 'Ace Of Diamonds' would ask me the opposite of some words, and then I would try to find it. If I could not get the correct answer, he would tell me.
He asked me the opposite of sad. It was happy.
The opposite of big was small.
The opposite of high was low and the opposite of hot was cold.
There were many more, but you know the game now so you could try to play it with your friends. It is fun and keeps you from getting bored.
We also played another game.
It went like this - Knock, knock, - whose there?
So I, Diamond Guy, said, 'knock, knock.' Then 'Ace Of Diamond' said,' whose there?' I answered, 'Diamond Guy.' So he said, 'whose diamond?' Then I replied, 'diamonds are a girl's best friend ha ha!' Then we both laughed.
C H A P T E R T W ODIAMOND GUY MEETS WHITE DOGGIEOne day, Griffin, my owner, took me back to Grandma's house. He put me to sleep on his bed. There I saw White Doggie. He was so big that I was afraid of him. Griffin put me very close to White Doggie's side. I was so close that I was touching him. He was sleeping on the nice pillow that Griffin has on his bed. There was also a Spiderman cushion on his bed. Spiderman was big too. He was bigger than me.
White Doggie was ten times as big as me. Then he smiled at me. He was nice and friendly to me. I was glad he liked me because he let me snuggle up to him and I was glad. He told me that I was a white Diamond Guy which looked like his white soft fur.
White Doggie was bought from the store. Griffin, my owner, chose him. Raydin, his twin brother, had a red doggie just like the White Doggie. The doggies were also brothers. White Doggie said that he liked his brother doggie. They each slept on their owners’ soft bed most of the time so that they could guard everything in their rooms. Some times the doggies got to play with each other, and that made then happy to be together.
Sometimes they got to stay with each other. They would be either in Griffin's room or Raydin's room. White Doggie loved to stay in Raydin's room because he had a larger bed and there was plenty of space to roll around in. Also there was much more room for all of us to play in.
Then White Doggie told me that one night Red Doggie let him sleep on his bed. They had so much fun that night. Most of the time they were playing games and they loved to tease each other while having fun.
"We looked out of the window. The moon was really bright and there were stars in the sky. We played a game of counting stars." said White Doggie. "We had so much fun playing together. I wish we could play together many more times."
He continued, "After that night, we would sometimes run over to each others bed during the night to sleep, but no one knew about this. We played more games too, as it made us happy. I think it is all right because everyone likes to play."
Let me tell you about White Doggie. He has really big eyes and very, very long ears. He has a beautiful pink tongue, and likes to waggle his tail to show how happy he is feeling. Do you know that dogs have four feet? I have only two feet, and they are smaller than his feet. I guess that is why he could run so fast.
I have a long tail also. It is longer than doggie's tail, but I cannot waggle it like White Doggie. He tried to teach me how to wag my tail, but I still cannot do it. My tail is red with a white piece of fluff at the end. Doggie told me not to worry if I could not waggle my tail but to keep on trying and maybe one day I would be able to.
This White Doggie likes to shake my black horns. He thinks that my little red triangular hat looks cute between the black horns on my head. This makes me feel very, very special and happy.
Everyone likes people to care about them and to be nice to them. It makes them feel good. Now you know why I was so happy and why I like to be with my doggie friend. He sure knows how to keep me happy. We also have fun playing games together, and at nights I love to snuggle up to him to keep warm.
Still I miss my friend, "Ace Of Diamonds." I know that he is missing me too. I guess he has no one to play games with now. Sometimes when I am cuddled up to White Doggie, I always wonder who was keeping my "Ace Of Diamond" friend, warm. I miss seeing the beautiful red diamond on his cover. I hope he is all right?
Maybe he is lonely lying all alone in a big drawer all by himself. I wish I could run over to see him once more. I know my master Griffin, would take me back to see him and guard him. Then I would tell him all about my adventures with the big doggies, and not let him be afraid. He will know that everyone in this place is friendly.
I think that I will tell my owner, Griffin, to take me there for a few days. How could I guard him when I am over here? It just doesn’t seem right. He has no one to talk to, and no one to tell his stories to. I do miss his stories you know.
Well back to my new friend, White doggie. I know that most of all White Doggie likes to tickle my white fluffy diamond body. White Doggie calls me cleany because I look clean and shinny all the time. I love to hear this. It makes me feel proud of myself.
Sometimes I would tickle White Doggie under his chin. He would laugh and roll over when I did this. All over his body is so soft that is one of the reasons why I like White Doggie so much and call him my friend.
Friends are supposed to like each other. Friends will do and say good things about each always. People should always look for the good in others. Sometimes friend may say or do something that would hurt someone. Even if they feel hurt because of something their friend did they should not go to others and say bad things about their friends. They should talk to their friend about it and try to solve the problem peacefully.
I would tell White Doggie what he did to hurt me, so he would understand just how I feel. Then he would not do the same thing again to hurt me, and we would always keep on being real good friends forever. Then we would think of nice things to do for each other to make each other happy and not hurt one another.
It is really important to try to make our friends, family and others in our world happy. This way we would have a happy world. Also, we would not let our other friends say bad things about anyone. If we do, we would be just as bad as they are. If we stop them, they would learn to say only good things about others. Then we would have a happy world full of love and goodness.
So back to White Doggie he is really kind and good to everyone. He does not try to push me off the bed. He even protects me from falling off the bed. I told him that I would like to jump around on the bed, but he would not let me do this. He is afraid that I might fall off. This shows that he is protecting me from getting hurt. I like him for this.
Well, since he liked me so much, I did not jump on the bed. Instead, I lay down quietly on the pillow and went to sleep. I just wanted to listen to my friend, White Doggie. I wanted to do the right thing and make him happy and proud of me.
Well, guess what? White Doggie told me that he was really happy that I listened to him. Now all the other toys in the room got to like me. They say that I am a good Diamond Guy. They all were nice and caring to me and I am glad that I am with a bunch of goodies. It is better than being with friends whom you cannot really trust. That kind of friends are really scary and I am happy to have met such good friends.
