Vision of Peace
And I saw in a Vision
The newborn age of Aquarius,
From a high place
I looked down, and saw.
The wealth of the ages
As if it were a pile of shells,
And no one kept guard
Over this treasure.
He who needed took from the Pile
All he needed
To supply his needs.
No one checked to see if he took more
Than his share.
He who had more than he needed
Gladly lay it upon
The Pile.
And the Pile was great.
And Peace lay over
all the land.
The Flame of Hope
Out there
In here
It is all the same
The bursting forth
So tiny that it isn’t there at all
Yet so powerful
Nothing can stop it.
Hope
When there seems to be no answer
Take heart
Bend to it.
I lit a flame that will not be put out!
Life
I could hug you, Life!
You boisterous, roaring, calling thing.
Are you ever twice the same?
Now a snail, boring and humdrum,
Now dancing as the poplar leaves
Caught in the breeze,
Trembling and glinting in the sun.
Now a splashing, dashing stream,
Carrying all on your sparkling crest.
Now a cold white moon,
Reflecting on the cold white snow.
Oh! Life, you are a magic thing.
I would not change you if I could.
Water
Diamonds glinting in the sun
twisting, winding,
ever winding to the sea.
Large and small
the brilliance of God’s love reflects in all.
Man’s wonderful mind
has given him wings
to soar in the air,
high above the mist and cloud
to be ribbons of glittering gems.
God gives us grace to see,
if we but look
at the diamonds in the sluggish ponds of life.
For they are there,
waiting for us to soar
above the seeming,
to the pure inner radiance of the Christ within.
